QANTAS Airbus A380 VH-OQG commenced its delivery flight today routing Toulouse – Singapore – Sydney as QF6028. The aircraft is in New ‘Roo livery and 14F/72J/32W/332Y configuration and is named “Charles Ulm”. This brings the QANTAS A380 fleet up to seven aircraft.

QANTAS A330-200 VH-EBP Delivered.

QANTAS A330-200 VH-EBP commenced its delivery flight today routing Toulouse – Singapore – Sydney as QF6020. The aircraft is in New ‘Roo livery and 42J/268Y configuration and is named “Ningaloo Valley”.

QANTAS A330-200 VH-EBH operated QF11 Sydney – Los Angeles today routing via Auckland. The aircraft returned as QF108 Los Angeles – Sydney again routing via Auckland.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQD Positioning Flight.

QANTAS [rss-cut[ A380 VH-OQD positioned Los Angeles – Sydney tonight as QF6022. This was the aircraft’s first flight since the November 4th grounding.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQG Not Delivered.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQG was scheduled to be delivered today but the aircraft remains in Toulouse due to a technical issue.

QANTAS B767-300ER VH-OGU in Loss of Separation Incident.

December 5, 2010

QANTAS Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGU QF438 Melbourne – Sydney took off shortly after a Virgin Blue Boeing 737-700 operating DJ331 Melbourne – Brisbane. Approximately 4 minutes after take-off separation between the two aircraft reduced to 1.9 nautical miles laterally and 300 feet vertically thus a serious loss of separation occurred which is under investigated by the ATSB. QANTAS have stated that the 767 crew were in full compliance with air traffic control instructions and had the Virgin Blue aircraft in visual contact at all times.
