QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS, which arrived into Brisbane this morning as QF16 from Los Angeles this morning, positioned Brisbane – Sydney as QF6003 early this evening then operated QF25 Sydney – Tokyo Haneda.

QANTAS B747-400 VH-OJS Brisbane Technical Issue.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS arrived into Brisbane this morning as QF16 from Los Angeles (depart Los Angeles 21st July), however its scheduled return to Los Angeles as QF15 was cancelled due to a technical issue.

QANTAS B747-400 VH-OJS Suspected Los Angeles Technical Issue.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS arrived into Los Angeles this morning as QF15 from Brisbane, however it did not operate the QF11/QF12 Los Angeles – New York JFK rotation as scheduled. This appears to have been due to a technical issue which was rectified in time for the aircraft to operate QF16 Los Angeles – Brisbane this evening. The delayed New York rotation will operate tomorrow.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operating QF16 Los Angeles – Brisbane (depart Los Angeles 20th July) diverted via Noumea for fuel early this morning due to expected weather at Brisbane.

QANTAS B747-400 VH-OJS Overnight Hong Kong Delay.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operated QF127 Sydney – Hong Kong this morning, however the return QF128 has been delayed overnight. It is not clear whether this is due to a technical or a crew issue.

QANTAS B747-400 VH-OJS QF63 Perth V-Pod Diversion.

Following the technical Boeing 747-400 technical issue at Johannesburg on 4th January, Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operating QF63 Sydney – Johannesburg  operated Sydney – Perth – Johannesburg today carrying a fifth engine on the V-Pod. The aircraft then returned as QF64, however this was the delayed QF64 of 4th January.

QANTAS B747-400 VH-OJS San Francisco Flight Switch.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operated today’s QF73 Sydney – San Francisco, then following the B747-400ER technical issue at San Francisco yesterday it turned around to operate yesterday’s delayed QF74 San Francisco – Sydney as QF74D.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operated QF96 Los Angeles – Melbourne this evening. Boeing 747-400 services on this route are normally operated exclusively by ER models.

QANTAS B747-400 VH-OJS Overnight Hong Kong Delay.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operated today’s scheduled QF127 Sydney – Hong Kong, however due to the 24 hour delay to yesterday’s service, there is no rested 747 crew available in Hong Kong to operate the return QF128, and this therefore been delayed overnight.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS arrived into Brisbane as QF16 from Los Angeles (depart Los Angeles 29th April), however its scheduled return to Los Angeles as QF15 has been delayed overnight due to a technical issue. The aircraft was able to position Brisbane – Sydney during the evening as QF6005.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operated QF11 Sydney – Los Angeles today as a knock on effect of the A380 technical issue at Los Angeles on 10th April.

QANTAS B747-400 VH-OJS Returns from Sydney Repair.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS, which has been out of service since arriving in Sydney as QF128 from Hong Kong on 1st January 2015, returned to service this morning operating QF63 Sydney – Johannesburg. The aircraft sustained ramp damage when struck by a catering truck at Sydney although we have been unable to establish precisely when. We suspect it was prior to the operation of QF75 Sydney – Vancouver on January 3rd.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operated QF51 Brisbane – Singapore today, however instead of returning to Australia as QF52 it instead operated QF82 Singapore – Sydney.

QANTAS  Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS, which has been under maintenance at Avalon since 20th February, undertook an Avalon – Avalon test flight this morning as QF6020. The aircraft then positioned Avalon – Sydney during the evening as QF6018.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS, which has been at Avalon since 9th August, positioned Avalon – Brisbane early this evening as QF6196. The aircraft has been reconfigured into 58J/36W/270Y configuration with A380 style cabin products.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS positioned Sydney – Avalon this morning as QF6195 where it is expected to be reconfigured into 58J/36W/270Y configuration with A380 style cabins. It’s final service in 14F/52J/32W/235Y configuration was yesterday’s QF128 Hong Kong – Sydney.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operating QF29 Melbourne – Hong Kong – London Heathrow (depart Melbourne 19th November) diverted via Brussels due to fog at London Heathrow this morning.

QANTAS B747-400 VH-OJS QF2 Bangkok Technical Return.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS operating the Bangkok – Sydney sector of QF2 London Heathrow – Bangkok – Sydney (depart London 15 October) was ten minutes into the flight  when the #3  engine was shut down after emitting a loud bang. The aircraft returned to Bangkok after dumping fuel.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS was delivered Seattle – Avalon – Sydney today as QF6003. The aircraft is in 1984 livery and 14F/79J/265Y configuration and becomes the 22nd B747-400 in the QANTAS fleet.

QANTAS B747-400 Withdrawals Accelerated.

QANTAS today announced an acceleration of the withdrawals of the non-refurbished Boeing 747-400 fleet with the aircraft all leaving the fleet by mid 2016. The ER aircraft and VH-OJS, VH-OJT and VH-OJU will remain.

QANTAS Boeing 747-438ER VH-OEG arrived into Brisbane this morning as QF8 from Dallas-Fort Worth (depart Dallas-Fort Worth 18th May), however the onward service to Sydney was operated bu Boeing 747-438 VH-OJS which had arrived into Brisbane as QF16 from Los Angeles (depart Los Angeles 18th May).
