QANTASLink B717-200 VH-YQW Brisbane Test Flight.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW, which has been under maintenance at Brisbane since returning with a technical issue on 29th November, undertook a 40 minute Brisbane – Brisbane test flight early this afternoon as QF6202.

QANTASLink B717-200 VH-YQW Brisbane Test Flight and QF1768 Brisbane Technical Return.

Following its technical return to Brisbane on 27th November, QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW undertook a 50 minute Brisbane – Brisbane test flight this morning as QF6200. The aircraft then returned to service operating QF1768 Brisbane – Mackay, however when the aircraft was to the west of Hervey Bay at 34,000ft it again turned back to Brisbane for a safe landing following a technical issue. The aircraft then entered the Brisbane maintenance facility.

QANTASLink B717-200 VH-YQW Returns from Sydney Maintenance.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW, which has been under maintenance at Sydney since 19th October, returned to service this morning operating QF1568 Sydney – Coolangatta. After arriving back in Sydney as QF1569 from Coolangatta, the aircraft positioned Sydney – Canberra as QF6202 this afternoon in order to operate QF1554 Canberra – Brisbane.

QANTASLink B717-200 VH-YQW Hobart Technical Issue.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW overnighted at Hobart after arriving as QF1585 from Sydney yesterday evening, however its scheduled return to Sydney as QF1582 was cancelled early this morning due to a technical issue. The aircraft was able to position Hobart – Sydney during the afternoon as QF6200 then returned to service operating QF1517 Sydney – Canberra.

QANTASLink B717-200 VH-YQW Positioning Flight.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW, which spent yesterday out of service at Canberra, positioned Canberra – Sydney as QF6200 this morning then returned to service operating QF1583 Sydney – Hobart.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW operated QF1506 Hobart – Melbourne this afternoon, however its next scheduled flight as QF1536 Melbourne – Canberra was cancelled due to a technical issue. The aircraft was able to position Melbourne – Brisbane during the evening as QF6202.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW positioned Sydney – Melbourne as QF6202 early this morning in order to operate an additional Melbourne – Sydney sector as QF1954. This is the first time we can recollect of a QANTASLink B717-200 operating in service on the the Melbourne – Sydney route.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW positioned Sydney – Hobart as QF6200 this morning in order to operate QF1500 Hobart – Melbourne. The aircraft then positioned Melbourne – Canberra as QF6202.

QANTASLink B717-200 VH-YQW Rockhampton Rescue Mission.

Following the earlier Boeing 717-200 technical issue at Rockhampton, QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW positioned Brisbane – Rockhampton this evening as QF6200 in order to operate the delayed QF1745 Rockhampton – Brisbane.

QANTASLink B717-200 VH-YQW Enters Service.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW entered service this morning operating QF1501 Melbourne – Hobart. From today all QANTAS Melbourne – Hobart services will be operated by QANTASLink B717-200s.

QANTASLink B717-200 VH-YQW Positions for Service Entry.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQW positioned Adelaide – Hobart as QF6200 early this evening in preparation for service entry. The aircraft is named “The Tassie Devil” and carries a Tasmanian Devil logo and paw prints.

QANTASLink B717-200 VH-YQW Begins Delivery Flight.

Boeing 717-2BL N928ME, which will become VH-YQW for QANTASLink, departed Jacksonville as SXI1121 on its delivery flight to Australia. The aircraft will route Jacksonville – Billings – Anchorage – Magadan – Sapporo New Chitose – Cebu – Darwin – Adelaide for pre-service entry maintenance. The aircraft is due in Adelaide on 15th April. The aircraft is already in QANTASLink New ‘Roo livery and will be the fourth Two Class Boeing 717-200 for QANTASLink and is a former Midwest Airlines and Mexicana Click aircraft.
