22nd June 2010 -QANTAS 767-300s sold for freighter conversion.
Air Transport Service Group has announced that it is to buy three Boeing 767-300 aircraft from QANTAS to convert to freighter aircraft. The Wilmington, Ohio based company expects to take delivery of all three aircraft within the next three months, suggesting that the three aircraft in store at Victorville, California; VH-OGA, VH-OGC and VH-OGD will be the machines concerned.
11th June 2010 -QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPF in search for missing yacht.
A330-300 VH-QPF was sent on a search mission from Perth for missing 16 year old round the world yachtswoman Abby Sunderland. The yacht was missing around 2,000 miles east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. Perth has an A330-300 spare today as there is a QF67 service to Hong Kong at 22.15, therefore no scheduled services are expected to be affected. The yacht was successfully located and the QANTAS jet spent around two hours circling over the vessel to co-ordinate radio operations directing ships to the scene.
1st June 2010 -Three QANTAS flight attendants taken to hospital.
Three QANTAS cabin crew were taken to hospital after being affected by fumes on QF476 from Perth to Melbourne today. The crew members started to feel nauseous and their eyes began to sting around twenty minutes before the end of the flight, operated by 767-300 VH-OGN. The aircraft was inspected by engineers on arrival.
