QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ, which has been in storage at Avalon since ith April, positioned Avalon – Melbourne as QF6113 late this morning then returned to service operating a Melbourne – Hong Kong cargo sector as QF7003.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ QF79 Brisbane Diversion.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ operating QF79 Melbourne – Tokyo Narita diverted via Brisbane late this morning. This appears to have been due to a medical issue on board however this is not yet confirmed. The aircraft arrived into Tokyo Narita with a four hour delay causing tonight’s QF62 Tokyo Narita – Brisbane to be delayed overnight.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ Tokyo Narita Flight Switch.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ operated QF79 Melbourne – Tokyo Narita this morning then turned around to operate yesterday’s delayed QF26 Tokyo Narita – Brisbane as QF62D. This followed the A330-300 technical issue at Tokyo Narita yesterday.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ QF130 Brisbane Diversion.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ operating QF130 Shanghai Pudong – Sydney (depart Shanghai 24th February) diverted via Brisbane this morning due to long hold times at Sydney caused by single runway operations following a surface failure on runway 16R.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ Flies the Rainbow.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ operated QF433 Sydney – Melbourne this afternoon having spent yesterday in the Sydney jet base having rainbow QANTAS titles and a rainbow flag added to the tail to promote QANTAS’ sponsorship of the Sydney LGBT Mardi Gras.

New Font, New, New Roo for VH-QPJ.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ was revealed at a media event in Sydney this morning with an updated, 2016 version of the QANTAS livery. This features a new QANTAS font, QANTAS titles on the underside, a further redesign of the flying kangaroo tail logo with silver shading and no front legs, a silver band between the red tail and white fuselage and a small, retro roo beneath the cockpit windows.

The new, new roo and font will form the QANTAS brand image going forward from today.

Twelve mainline aircraft remain in QANTAS 1984 livery and these, along with VH-QPJ, will transition to the new 2016 scheme without appearing in the New Roo livery introduced in 2007.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ Returns from Victorville Maintenance.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ, which has been under maintenance at Victorville since 10th October, positioned Victorville – Kona – Sydney late tonight as QF6004. The aircraft is expected to be have been repainted from QANTAS 1984 however the unusual routing via Kona and the fact that the ferry flights are all under cover of darkness, and the fact that the aircraft will arrive into Sydney just in time for a press event announcing the first QANTAS Boeing 787-9 routes points to some sort of special livery.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ Returns from Brisbane Maintenance.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ, which has been under maintenance at Brisbane since 2nd May, returned to service this afternoon operating QF97 Brisbane – Hong Kong. The aircraft has been reconfigured from 30J/267Y to 28J/269Y with flat beds in Business Class and Panasonic IFE. This completes the A330-300 reconfiguration programme.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ Returns from Bangkok.

Following the technical issue it encountered on 8th April, QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ departed Bangkok in the early hours of this morning operating yesterday’s delayed QF24 Bangkok – Sydney.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ Continues from Hong Kong.

Following its diversion yesterday, QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ departed Hong Kong this morning operating yesterday’s diverted QF129 Sydney  – Shanghai Pudong routing Hong Kong – Shanghai Pudong as QF129D. The aircraft then operated yesterday’s delayed QF130 Shanghai Pudong – Sydney as QF130D.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ Hong Kong Technical Return.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ operated QF30 Hong Kong – Melbourne stopped the climb at 9,000 ft this evening due to a technical issue and returned to Hong Kong for a safe landing. Passengers have been accommodated overnight.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ Delivered.

QANTAS A330-300 VH-QPJ was delivered Toulouse – Singapore as QF6008 today. The aircraft is named “Port Stephens”, wears 1984 livery and is in 30J/267Y configuration. This brings the QANTAS A330-300 fleet up to ten aircraft.
